issue
A comparison report will show changes for Modules, Exports, and Saved views where custom ‘Select Levels to Show...' has been used when comparing a Revision Tag created before February 17, 2024 with a Revision Tag created after February 17, 2024.
This is regardless of whether the custom 'Select Levels to Show...' was changed between the two revision tags you're comparing. Modules and Exports may also show multiple columns with the header 'Use Level Based Indent’.
These extra additions to the comparison report don't affect the sync and can be disregarded. However, they do make the true changes within the sync more difficult to identify.
workaround
To see the true changes between revision tags in a comparison report:
- Revert the DEV model to the serial at which the target revision (where prod model currently sits) was created.
- Create a new revision tag.
- Compare the source revision in DEV (the revision you want to push to prod) with this newly created revision to see what will really be in the sync.
- If you're happy with the changes listed, run the sync to PROD.
- Be aware that the comparison report will still show all the extra information when you step through the sync process here, but you can be sure that the comparison report generated from the DEV model in Step 3 contains the true changes.
