issue
The ability to select a saved view when populating a source dataset in Data Orchestrator from a model was released at the end of September 2025. Prior to this, the entire module was included in the export.
An issue has been identified when using this functionality with a Polaris model.
The export will fail when:
- The model is a Polaris model.
- The data in the saved view contains line items of types other than numeric or Boolean.
- The saved view meets one or more of these conditions:
- View cannot be pivoted so that only line items are in columns.
- View has multiple pages and a current page filter active.
- View has a mix of dimensionality in line items (including mixing Brought-Forward, subsets, etc.).
- Module has a mix of Brought-Forward, subsets, etc. within a dimensionality group.
workaround
When populating a source dataset from a Polaris model and including line items with types other than numeric and Boolean, it is recommended that the entire module is used as the source of the dataset rather than having it reference a saved view.
To limit the scope of the data, an additional module with the required data can be created and used as the source.
