Find solutions to some common import and export questions. Importing means loading data into Anaplan models from text files, other Anaplan models, databases, spreadsheets, and other accounting and reporting systems.
This article is for all users.
Import
Imports enable you to work with data from external sources in Anaplan and to keep your data consistent across your workspace. You can import data model from a flat file, or from one Anaplan model into another.
The list below addresses the most common issues other customers have encountered when working with data imports.
Error "Import Connector: Failed to retrieve data from remote server”
An import process is stuck at X% and is still processing
Errors importing data with APIs
Model-to-model import errors
Error "Failed to locate model (source model)"
Error "The import source cannot contain more than 2147483647 cells"
Export
An export action does not create a file
This issue happens when the file for export is unavailable on the server. The cause might be that the file is private. A private export file can only be accessed by the user who originally exported the data from the model. When you create an export action, you can save the export definition, and select who can access the file. If you select Myself (keep private), only you can access the file.
